Applications
Caustic Soda Liquid Reactivity
Caustic Soda Liquid is a highly reactive material which reacts rapidly with carbon dioxide. Although it is stable chemical, it start chemical reaction due to temperature changes. The heat causes the product to become unstable and reactions to start and in case of severe heat shock, it can cause explosion. Liquid Caustic Soda is highly corrosive and reacts easily with metals such as Aluminum, Magnesium, Zinc, Chromium, Bronze, Copper and Brass. Galvanized surfaces react rapidly in direct contact with caustic soda solution. As a result of the corrosion process of these metals, Hydrogen gas is released, which can cause explosion. If the temperature drops below 18 ° C, the viscosity of the liquid soda increases dramatically. Although Liquid Caustic Soda is not flammable or explosive on its own, it can react with various acids such as Hydrochloric Acid to neutralize and release significant heat. It affects human and animal tissues such as leather, skin and eyes. Liquid Sodium hydroxide also easily reacts with Fructose, Galactose, Maltose, and produces Carbon Monoxide.
