Silica powder is composed of very small crystalline particles up to 150 micrometers in diameter. More precisely, it can be considered as a by-product of the process of high-purity quartz thermal reduction with carbon materials such as coke and coal (used in the production of silicon alloys).
Silica Flour production process
The production of Silica powder is done in a three-step process, which are mentioned below.
- Extraction and supply of natural quartz (or synthetic quartz from hydrothermal culture)
- Crushing and grinding quartz
- Crystalline Silica particles from quartz milling are the same as silica powder
